Customers served by Anacostia railroads can receive e-mail reports which provide "real time" status of loaded and empty rail cars on the railroad and in the "pipeline." The e-mail reports can be tailored to meet the customer's needs, and can provide information about the number of cars in the pipeline, and the current rail car location and status.

The e-mail report is available on a computer "scheduler," so that the reports can be generated automatically at a prearranged time. The reports come as file attachments to an e-mail, and can be received in any of four formats:

• RTF (requires a word processor, or Microsoft WordPad)

• TXT (requires a text editor, such as Microsoft Notepad)

• PDF (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

• HTML (requires a web browser)
