| Louisville & Indiana Names Rickel Vice President | ||||||

September 8, 2011 JEFFERSONVILLE, IN - The Louisville & Indiana Railroad (LIRC) has appointed Daniel C. Rickel to the newly created position of vice president, effective September 11, reporting to LIRC President John Secor at the railroad’s headquarters in Jeffersonville, Ind. MR. Rickel has served as president of the Northern Lines Railway (NLR), St. Cloud, Minn., since 2004. He will continue as president of NLR. Both LIRC and NLR are affiliates of Anacostia & Pacific Company, Inc., Chicago, a leading U.S. railroad development and consulting firm. The Chicago South Shore & South Bend railroad in northern Indiana is also an affiliate of Anacostia. A native of Minnesota, Mr. Rickel has more than 30 years of railroad experience and began his railroad career with the Chicago and North Western in St. Paul, Minn. as a switchman and locomotive engineer. He later held positions as trainmaster and assistant terminal superintendent with C&NW advancing to manager, terminal operations at the Union Pacific’s Proviso yard in Chicago. In 1997, he became general manager of operations for the Twin Cities & Western, a regional railroad based in Glencoe, Minn., and its affiliate Minnesota Prairie Line. Mr. Rickel has a B.S. degree in logistics management from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He is qualified as a designated supervisor of locomotive engineers. The Louisville & Indiana Railroad began operations on March 12, 1994 over 106 route miles of track acquired from Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail). This formerly was the main line of the Pennsylvania Railroad and is the most direct route between Louisville and Indianapolis.
