As a result of a recent power outage due to severe high winds, the Louisville & Indiana Railroad (LIRC) bridge over the Ohio River is temporarily out of service.

Louisville & Indiana Reopens Mainline [July 8, 2008]

The Louisville & Indiana Railroad (LIRC) said it reopened its 106-mile main line on June 30 after floods, June 8, washed out track at six locations between Louisville, Ky. and Indianapolis, Ind., including a bridge near Rockford, Ind.

Bridge Washout Severs the Louisville & Indiana Mainline Between Columbus and Seymour [June 12, 2008]

On Sunday, June 8, 2008, a railroad bridge near Rockford, IN collapsed due to flooding.  As a result, the main track between Indianapolis and Louisville is effectively severed.

L&I Names Boyd New Roadmaster [Oct 31, 2003]

The Louisville & Indiana Railroad has named Daryle Boyd as L&I's new Roadmaster, effective November 3, 2003. He will replace Bob Heilman, who held the position since 1994.
