PHL Film Location

Pacific Harbor Line, Inc. is available as a filming location for scenes requiring railroad tracks, equipment, and facilities. PHL is located within the 30-mile radius filming zone for Los Angeles , thereby offering reduced location costs for producers. We have hosted filming for movies, television shows, and commercials.
Available equipment and features include locomotives, a wide variety of freight cars, freight car classification yards, bridges, railroad signals, roadway/railroad grade crossings, and loading docks. Sites with railroad features include both public (Port of Los Angeles/Port of Long beach) property and private property. PHL's operating territory also includes the Port of Los Angeles ' replica Pacific Electric “red car” vintage trolley.

Filming at PHL requires contracts, permits, and insurance meeting PHL, municipal, and Port of Los Angeles/Port of Long Beach requirements. Filming is necessarily supportable only when there will be no excessive disruption of PHL's primary mission as a working freight railroad.
