Position Summary
This position performs various duties and tasks to support the CSS Customer Service department and CSS customers.
Schedule: Midnight to 0830 AM Monday thru Friday.

Annual Salary: $58000 and 20% of annual salary bonus potential. Salary will be increased by $5000 once fully qualified in the position.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or communication degree is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Expert capabilities in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One to three years in customer service, administrative assistant roles. Transportation experience is preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED: Effective verbal and written communication abilities. Well-developed organization skills. Detail oriented, capable to multitask, and the ability to adapt quickly when plans change. Ability to work independently and within a team.
Responsibilities

- Performs daily communications with internal and external customers via phone, email and other to ensure CSS customers are getting quality service.
- Manages CSS inventory through the management system to ensure accurate reporting of car movement, audit waybills, and understand daily rail car. Being the daily inventory expert in order to support customer inquiries and partnering departments.
- Investigates billing discrepancies and following through to resolve open items.
- Prepares and lines-up work activities of train crews as directed by the Manager on Duty.
- Manages car order processing function and the related documentation along with filing.
- Coordinates with connecting RR’s to order foreign railcars as needed to support customer rail car needs.
- Performs daily audits on inventory and interchanges to ensure correct charges are attached to cars.
- Effectively communicates with co-workers, customers and personnel of other railroads via phone and email.
- Maintains a safe course of action in the performance of assigned duties.
- Fills in for the CSS Customer Service Manager when the Manager is out of the office.
- Performs other duties, tasks, and projects as required or assigned to support CSS railroad operations.
